Continuing the pursuit of making stock controllers more "aftermarket-capable", brings us to standalone boost control natively integrated into the E92 ECU.
While the stock forced induction logic can manage boost via bypass valve actuators (supercharged) or wastegate actuators (turbocharged), its primary job is simple: regulate manifold pressure to control torque. However, OEM logic offers very limited customization — until now.
Building on the recent ability to define variable Power Enrichment (PE) targets based on manifold pressure, we've now expanded the control system to allow fully user-defined boost control — designed specifically with the aftermarket in mind.
This system introduces:
-Custom duty cycle output tables using HP Tuners User Defined Parameters
-Flex Fuel integration: Y-axis scaled to ethanol content (%)
-Speed-based control: X-axis scaled to vehicle speed
-Manifold Pressure Setpoint: Activates boost control above user-defined MAP thresholds
-Pre-set low MAP duty cycle: Maintains stability when below the setpoint
-Wheel speed bias multiplier for vehicles still equipped with wheel speed sensors
****Currently in active testing, we anticipate rolling out this functionality in the coming weeks for E92 factory forced induction platforms, with naturally aspirated support following shortly after****
